How to Make Café-Style Coffee at Home for Under Rs 100 a Cup
The café latte habit costs serious money in this economy. The same foam-topped cup comes out of your own kitchen for a fraction — here is the recipe.
The kit
Three things: the Nescafé Classic jar, EveryDay milk powder and a handheld milk frother.
The method
Whisk a teaspoon of coffee with two of hot water into a paste. Mix hot milk (three teaspoons of powder per cup), then froth for 20 seconds until it doubles. Pour the milk over the coffee paste, spoon the foam on top.
The maths
Per cup: a rupee-scale spoon of coffee, three of milk powder, a few seconds of battery. Well under Rs 100 — and the frother pays for itself inside two weeks of skipped café runs. Serving guests? Grab paper cups with lids too.
